Working with neurodivergent teenagers in play therapy presents unique opportunities and challenges that require specialized understanding, creativity, and flexibility. This training, “The AutPlay® Framework and Teenage Clients: Considerations and Approaches,” explores how practitioners can effectively apply the AutPlay® Therapy Framework in their play therapy theories to meet the developmental, emotional, and social needs of adolescent clients.
Participants will learn how to adapt core AutPlay® principles—including play therapy interventions, regulation strategies, and social connection—within a teen-friendly framework. Special attention will be given to the developmental differences and evolving identity formation that occur during adolescence, as well as ways to collaborate with families while supporting a teenager’s growing independence and self-advocacy.

"Social Navigation Support through Group Play Therapy for Neurodivergent Youth"
Our Village has some neat community youth news & a great therapy tool to share with our South Bay community clinicians!
We would like to give a shout out & a huge "Congratulations" to Eagle Scout, Emma Schleifer, for winning "Eagle Scout Project of the Year for the Greater Los Angeles Area Council!" Thanks to her awesome partnership and service time with Monica Fyfe and Our Village to create these middle-school age-appropriate, helpful social navigation educational role-play videos, for clinician and parent use to support their tweens and teens collaboratively in their social goals.
And for a limited time, all 5 videos are bundled as a fundraising feature and bonus tools for registrants of our 2-hour, non-contact webinar, “Social Navigation Support through Group Play Therapy for Neurodivergent Youth!”
Participants will learn about the "Kid 2 Kid" integrative, group play therapy approach created by Monica Fyfe, MFT, BCBA, RPT-S. Monica will share considerations for law and ethics, member selection, agendas and goals, and limit setting in a group environment. Participants will learn how to embed research-based directive interventions inspired by Acceptance and Commitment Play Therapy (ACPT), Teaching Interactions and Behavior Skills Training, and Theraplay® inspired Group Connection, Attachment and Movement Interventions.
