PEERS® Social Skills Group for Young Adults
PEERS® Program for Education & Enrichment of Relational Skills
For Young Adults (ages 18 – 30)
Offered through Harbor Regional Center and Westside Regional Center

PEERS® is a 16-week evidenced based social and relational skills program designed for motivated young adults who are interested in learning skills to make and keep friends and develop romantic relationships.
PEERS® is is used clinically for individuals with ASD, ADHD, anxiety, depression and other social challenges.
PEERS® Participants Will Learn How To:
Maintain appropriate conversations Appropriately use electronic forms of communication
Use appropriate humor Host successful get-togethers
Choose appropriate friends Successfully handle disagreements and teasing
Enter and exit conversations *Develop romantic relationships
*Use appropriate dating etiquette
- Social Coaches (parent/caregiver, family member, adult sibling, peer mentor) participate in a concurrent group to learn how to assist young adults by providing feedback during weekly socialization homework assignments.
- Both client and social coach commitment to the group is necessary, as there will be weekly assignments to complete together.
Our next groups will begin February 2020! Screenings begin in January 2020!
Our Village staff will determine if the Young Adult is an appropriate fit for our Group.
Every effort will be made to provide you with referrals if your young adult if not accepted into the group.
Families may qualify for available funding through Harbor Regional Center or Westside Regional Center. For additional information please contact your Service Coordinator.
